Ok the MV bug has bitten me. I am looking for a Duece M35A2, possibly will consider an A3 (mostly due to price and available cash :) . I am watching the classifieds here. I much rather buy from someone in the hobby than craigslist, etc.

I'm also watching Ebay, and have had some communications with TNJ Murray and Eastern Surplus.

I realize that there will be some work involved, tinkering, maintenance, parts, filters, etc, but I'm looking for a roadworthy unit, good tires, brakes, etc that I can get some use out of this summer.

Any suggestions? I'm told that the LDS Multifuel is what to get in the A2. Don't know much yet about these motors.

I'd ultimately like one with the troop seats, bows, and cargo cover. Color is not that important, i.e. tan, green, or three color camo. I have seen quite a few nice trucks for sale here that are way far away :(

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

Too true! I've had my deuce for about 10 months, and just won a trailer. But I'm definitely feeling a 900 series 5 ton. A 925A2 oughtta do the trick (for awhile). LOL:grd:

A2's are pretty easy to work on. It just takes time and some money now and again. I love mine. I would like to add a 5-ton to the collection but I wouldn't give up my deuce for anything.

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat, I'm also looking at an A3! Did you get any pricing from Eastern or TNJ Murry? I think I'm leaning towards truck that is 100% ready to go.

If you got the cash then buy from a private seller. A dealer is out to make a decent buck at this but make sure you add a hardtop and heater on your list of things to have on your future truck.... For everything you listed and with a hardtop and heater should cost around $4K. Average cost of these trucks are around $3500 to $4500. All the dealers I seen for a good reliable runner are over $5K... Dealers are for people who can't find it elsewhere or for people that don't have the cash up front..
