The second largest annual MV swap meet in the West is again hosted by the Military Vehicle Collectors of California the third week of September. This is the incarnation of the Woodson Bridge Fall event and is held at the same location as our April meet: Stockton/Delta KOA, 6 miles west of I-5 on State Route 12. For pro and amateur vendors this is a low cost event - like FREE except for your paid campsite! NO admission charge, NO MV registration fee, NO parking fee. Large, shady, grassy full-hookup campsites plus an inexpensive dry camping option. Appearance by the "25th Infantry Division Huey." Producer/writer of the film "21 Days and a Wake-up" is looking for Vietnam war nurses, doctors, or vets that were treated by them, for interviews for a new documentary film. More on this in our MVCC newsletter. Awards will be given for "Longest Distance Driving an MV, "Longest Distance Bringing an MV," and "Hard Luck Award" for anybody having MV trouble getting to the meet (and will admit it!). Living historians are encouraged in a high profile grass display location. Expanded parking on levee plus MV commuter parking close-in. Restaurant with bar, marina, boat ramp, rentals, store, ice cream shop. Pool with water features for the kids plus adult pool, spa. Campers should contact Stockton Delta KOA for September reservations - 800-562-0913. Info at 209-369-1041. Ask for Campground 4 which is where the pools, Pavilion, and helo LZ is. (Spring event reservations use a different procedure. Ask me for details). For general MVCC info including calendar, http://www.mvccnews.net.

Mark your calendars for the 2013 Camp Delta event April 14-21, featuring a USN & USMC vehicle showcase.

Which area is campground 4?
The farthest one east. Come off the levee, drive through Campground 2 and the road bends right through a gate that's always open. That is CG 4. The Fall event is smaller and our goal is to try to get people to fill GG4 so KOA doesn't have many sites available to outsiders in "our" area. But some people prefer CG2 and that's fine.

There is an interesting interractive map on www.mvccnews.net on the April Camp Delta listing. Shows the site numbers. If you hover over a site it shows who had it in April. This is not necessarily who has it in September.

Added info about a UH-1H helicopter appearance (25th Infantry Division Huey) plus interviews by a movie producer for a new Vietnam War documentary to follow his 2009 film, "21 Days and a Wake-Up" which is being sold to TV for release Veteran's Day 2012, the 40th anniversary of the war. MVCC members provided MVs for some scenes in the latter film.
