A buddy of mine has almost an unlimited supply of Jet A fuel, and i was wondering if i could put that in my 95 chevy 6.5 turbo diesel without any issues?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Thanks guys, I cant wait till I get a deuce to run it on jet a, but untill then its going in the 6.5. thats an extra 100$ a week in my pocket now
Don't forget that the DS4 injection pump has an optical sensor that needs to "see" the fuel so having it too dark with waste oil or dyes is not a good thing.thanks ill think ill put some wmo or even new motor oil in the tank to avoid the color red all together
This can't be stressed enough. WMO will blind the optical sensor in short order. My son put 5 gallons of 50/50 in my 94 and it pretty much shut it down. The red dye didn't show any ill effects as far as operability. The standyne red and blue formulas were designed for the DS4 and will do nothing but help.Don't forget that the DS4 injection pump has an optical sensor that needs to "see" the fuel so having it too dark with waste oil or dyes is not a good thing.
FWIW,
Chad
That's not true. When I was in the navy we used jp5 in all of our support equipment. They had stenciled on them "DF#2 or JP5".Jet Fuel is like Kerosene you will need to put some type of top end lube in there to keep from melting a piston
