Spicer problem in the M-35

Ok Boys,
I have a problem and have looked everywhere for the answer, so unless I have a search check disorder and missed it, this is the reason I am here.
My M-35 keeps getting gear oil on my clutch, after just a short ride, you start to smell it and the tranny starts to slip. Can someone please tell me what is up? Oh to get us off on the right foot-
1. Nope it is not over filled.
2. it is filled with the right gear oil.
Please advise as it is driving me nuts.

If it isn't over filled, then the front seal on the trans is leaking.

Or (very unlikely) the front of the case could be cracked.

Or (Least likely, but most interestingly) you have an angry midget hidden under the truck who lubes your flywheel as you drive.

Best ideas I have.

The input shaft bearing cap "snout" could be loose, letting gear oil leak.

If it really is gear oil, you may...:

A) ... remove the inspection cover plate on the bottom of the clutch housing and make sure the (lower)bolts attching the transmission to the clutch housing are still tight and no obvious oil tracks anywhere.

B) ... pull the transmission and then the input shaft bearing retainer; then read this...

C) ... report back your findings....

I don't think the transmission has a vent, There is no seal for the input shaft, it vents there. That is why you have a fording plug for the bellhousing, to prevent water getting in the input shaft. Input is a shielded bearing, and slinger style snout. It also has a small hole under the bearing to let the oil drain back out, have to be careful if you use RTV to not plug the hole.

This is a common problem, probably a search for slipping clutch would work. Oil should be 1/2 low in transmission.

Most have a vent just in front of the shifter.
