Is anyone on SS working on the old family radios (A/N GRC-3 thru -8 or VRC / VQR) radios from the 50's and early 60's? I'm talking about the old "boat anchor" tube radios.

I'm looking for a source for a bunch of little bits and pieces (antenna plug caps, switch levers, speaker plug caps w/ chains, screws, etc). This stuff all seems to be too small for Fair Radio, Murphy, Columbia, etc to be bothered with.

Do you know of any good sources?

Thanks for the help.

I don't have a source for you, but I'm here to say "hi" from another boatanchor collector!

I started off collecting radios from that era, before my collection grew to include both newer and older gear spanning from WW2 up through less than a decade ago.

Check with SS member countcv61 (Dan Klatt) at Pineview Surplus in Frederic Michigan. He has some old stuff there and might part with some parts.

Have you been on the Yahoo Groups and Delphi Forums for the 'Army Radios' and the similar groups. Lots of folks there discussing, buying and selling older radio equipment.

Thanks for the lead! I'll email him and see if I can induce him to let some of his little bits and pieces find a new home.

Thanks again. [thumbzup]

No, I haven't been to those sites. I'll try them this evening. Hope I have some luck there.

Thanks, Mike!
