Well gentleman, and ladies, last Saturday all my waiting, reading, learning and saving finally paid off! I picked up my first M35A2 and she is everything I had hoped for! Ever since I was a kid I can remember seeing these things at air shows or in movies and I always wanted to own one. Now I am proud to say that I am a MV owner and its awesome! The deuce is an 86' and she was purchased at a GL auction in PA by her former owner. She fires right up and runs smooth (for a diesel), on the road she definitely isn't going to win any races but thats fine because I didn't buy her for high end performance. She needs a little TLC which will be in the time to come. I'd like to restore and freshen her up but I want to do it correctly so no rushing for me. I should have more pictures to come in the near so let me know what you think.

I would like to thank everyone on this side for posting everything you do. I am on SS daily and it seems as though there is always something new to learn or stories to be told. And Id also like to thank btcoutermash (the deuces former owner). He was nothing but helpful to me and a great all around person.

Congrats!! Well, you did it now. Now that you've bought one, it's just a matter of time you'll want another;-)
And no matter how many times you tell people that this is going to be the only piece of green iron you are going to own the sickness will take its toll on you. I know. I was one of those who said I will not be interested in another truck after I bought this one. Now I am looking at buying a 5 ton wrecker to go along with my m35a2 and my m105 trailer I already have.

Great looking Rig... is that the push button selector switch for the lights? I got to get me one of those!!! anyone know where to find them???

Yes thats a push button selector switch and frankly i dont like it... its probably the only thing i don't like on the truck. I want an old switch with the levers. A rubber push buttton doesn't have the same affect to me as flipping a lever.... its like the mad scientist affect!

You say it is an '86. Is it an M35A2C?

Congrats

Ok this is where i get a little confused.... you say M35A2C? She does have the C-type whisler turbo but doesn't the C in M35A2C stand for the engine type? Im not sure on the engine type but if someone could clear up my confusion that would be great.

Oh, I guess you missed that on your reading excursions in the forum! ;)

M35A2C means it has the drop sides on the bed. It has nothing to do with the turbo, although later models tend to have the "D" turbo which is mechanically better but not as loud.

Do you already have the split brake system? Blue warranty sticker on the dash?

THANK YOU!! that question has been plagueing me for a while! Unfortunately no drop sides on this truck I WISH, that would be super convenient!
