Will a 1008/1028 tailgate fit my M1009?

I'm probably not ever going to put the topper back on my M1009, unless I want to sell it. That said, I was wondering if I could replace the tailgate with one from a 1008/1028 or civi truck?

Yes the pickup tail gates fit and the mounting locations are already there for the hinge pivot mounts.

You just need all the pick up hardware.
