Trust Worthy Diesel Recovery In California?

Can the SteelSoldiers out there speak out about trust worthy mechanical and recovery services in the Californa, specifically French Camp, Barstow, Travis and Herlong liquidation centers? Other Southern, CA sites also interesting to hear about.

Who would you trust to pick up your auction buy, go thru it mechanically and prep for the drive home?

Who would you trust to not steal the tools from the truck tool boxes?

Who would you trust to go thru and evaluate all the mechanical aspects of a large or smell diesel truck and prep for a 2-4 hour drive back to your place?

Are they pick up people that you can trust to pick up your generator buy and store until you can come get in a few weeks?

Someone trusted to go through the vehicle for pre-trip inspections and repairs, diesel professional, trust your "loose" items, and he has (or at least he had, should still have it) a large lift that I have personally had large cable reel trucks up in the air on (without the cable on board though!).

Ask for Wendell Kelley. Tell him Gomer sent you. Wendell is the owner of the shop, and especially if you are dealing with a Cummins, you won't find anyone better in So. Cal. I used to be a tech. for him about 5 years ago. He might be willing to take on tasks other than the inspection/repair/performance upgrades. But that is between you and him, if he has anyone at the shop that can run it in his absence, what you are willing to pay him, etc.

And if you want to talk about how much his customers trust his work, here's a short story: A guy from Florida had a '97 Dodge 4x4 with a 12 valve Cummins and a 6-spd manual tranny. Guy's rear end blew out in Texas. Guy has his Dodge brought in ON A FLAT BED with Texas Plates to have us change his rear end. Truck showed up just before 4 PM, by 2 AM, the guy's on the road again and I was introduced to Pendleton Whiskey for working late on his truck. (Great whiskey by the way, have a bottle in the cabinet right now!)

I don't know if this is what you were asking about, but he might be a good place to start, he knows just about everybody.

Escondido is down south California I think but I will sub in
just so I have the link to the man "In Case" .

I have a dream that a list of qualified, trustworthy, inspectors
and recovery inclined gents is created here so a guy could
buy "X" from "Y" and call someone on a list local to "Y" and
have them inspect it and go get it, ship it or mail it and even fix
it. THAT would be a service worth paying for.

I do know a guy in the FT Lewis area whom can fill that bill.

Brad Milne. PM me if anyone wants his contact info.
I entrusted him to review and provide an opinion
on my M925A1, and when I won it he fetch'd it up
and held it at his ranch till I flew up and fetch'd it up
myself! Just the trip to his place is worth the trip!

I usually just have the unit towed or shipped to my local mechanic so he can go through it. Without a form 97 and a vin verification you can not register the vehicle. I believe you need the form 97 to get the three day permit and I would not drive the vehicle without that or insurance.

When I won my CUCV-II at Barstow back in 2011, I had Mark Riddle [100dollarman] Pick it up and hold it for me until I could make the trip from south Florida. He stored it for over three months. His email is [100dollarman.com@gmail.com]. I still have his cell number if you need it.
Good guy to deal with.

Thx, Guys!

I cant do the pu or mechanical work anymore. But I can hold or store just about anything. If someone needs to store something for a day or two, or even a week its free! Longer is $50 per month.
