Anyone in Albany GA and has the space to let us tear down some trailers?

Hey all,

We may be acquiring some trailers that we'd want to break down into parts, tires and rims, brakes etc. Just hoping to find some a place where we could have the trailers dropped and we could come down and pull the parts off we want, and scrap the rest...

Anyone have a place? Anyone have an idea on who could move Mk48 trailers out of Albany too?

thanks!

Probably not the kind of thing we would want to volunteer someone into.
Not everyone wants to turn their home into a scrapyard for stripping down and scrapping parts.

I know I wouldn't.

I agree...and I would like to add:
I don't think it's a good idea to sorta "volunteer or recommend" anyone near any site without that persons knowledge/approval.

In my opinion, the right way to get folks linked up would be like this...I see a post for someone asking for help near...say Albany, GA. I know someone near Albany so I PM that person and alert him/her that this person needs help and leave it to that person to contact the person needing help by PM etc...or not.

I'm gonna tell ya straight up. I've helped some folks out and had good/bad experiences. Actually...it's about 30% good and 70% bad...so I'm very gun shy of picking stuff up for folks.
There's no way I would drag stuff to my AO and let someone come in and take what they want then scrap what the didn't want.

That's just me and my opinion.

Well, I was just saying contact him and ask, not start dumping trailers in his yard.

I guess I shouldn't have. I don't mind if people say "hey, contact Ferro, he's in the area" but that doesn't mean everyone else is ok with it.

In response to the OP. We've talked thru PM about something else involving roof hatches and I'm fine with that. If you're goal is to get some axles and misc parts from MK 48 series trailers, contact me as I know a guy that has bought a pile of them just south of me about 18 miles away. I've got to pick up two trailers for Andy 1234 and load them out, he says that anything that needs to go on that trailer and keep it under legal weight is fine. I concur with the others that have said, I will not let a cutting torch or a dismantling crew in my yard. If I recover it in one piece, it leave's here in one piece.
