I have a question for you 5ton guys. The spec sheet on the m931a2 tractor lists the height at 121 inches but it states reducible to 94 inches. Is there a design in the suspension that allows for this or do you just let air out of the tires?
thanks
Will

To achieve that, you remove the stack, spare tire and davit, rear bed cover and bows, cab top, and lower the windshield.

I'll bet you remove both tops, drop the windshield, and take the top section off the exhaust stack to get your reduced clearance. How are you going to move onto a plane or ship with flat tires?

Yes there is no reason to let the air out of tires and then move it up or down ramps to load or unload,All the m series i believe are shipped this way, All the exhaust stacks have a joint at that level , windshield bows etc. are give ins :) ... There is one series of vehicles i know of that has a ratchet system to lower the hight of the truck, quiz anyone else know this truck ? :)

On my truck I had to lower everything to just below the hard cab top. Got the height down to about 9' 10" (118 ") Pole barn has a 10' ceiling. Took a few inches out of the top exhaust pipe, lowered the air cleaner top cap, and removed the davit arm. Just how far do you want to lower the height of the truck?

I was looking at one for sale locally I would want it under 10 feet. It would make sense for the suspension to have some height adjustability for different height trailers and different weight loads. Over 10 feet it would be impractical there are low overpasses all around my area.

Will do as I did and you will be good to go. The M931A2 is the nicest MV truck I have ever driven. You will like it I am sure.

Why would you expect a tactical truck to have a adjustable suspension ? The suspensions match their load rating and the trailer designed to be towed by them match the truck . Even with a air bag suspension your only looking at a couple inches drop to get under a 5th wheel trailer , it still has to be air back up to tow . For the trailer put a adjustable height hitch on the tongue and the truck.

I read through the operators guide it was like 450 pages I didn't read every page but I read the chapters I thought would be relevant and did not see anything on height. What's the -10?
