Has anyone noticed "failure to fit" when installing the Dana Tab Style CP115X U-joint that is used for the Deuce short shaft and the driveline between the TC and the first rear differential? I have purchased 4 of these U-joints from one of the popular vendors, for possible future need. However, I was on the road (8000 mile round trip) when a vibration developed, and stopped at a reputable shop to have the bad U-joint behind the TC replaced. This shop had a stock of the same CP115X U-joints I have at home, and when they tried to replace the bad joint (CP115X) the new joint didn't fit properly. The cross assembly had too much movement into one cup or the other, both ways. It is as though one did not press the cap with bearings sufficiently to come to the "stop" position in other types of joints. However, as you know the CP115X cap is mounted with screws and has a lock tab over the plate that holds the cap. I can't remember the name given to this type of U-joint, but Deuce Dandies will know what I'm talking about. Since I was not yet home, my shaft was replaced with one that takes the type of U-joint that uses snap retainers. Now all is well, except I have 4 brand new CP115X's at home that are identical to the one that wouldn't fit. My concern now is that they will not fit the short shaft if one ever needs replacement. I suspect these are made in China, although there is no indication on the joint. Simply very poor tolerances. Sorry for the wordiness here. I'm just wondering if others have had this problem, and if I might be steered in a direction where I might find good stuff. Many thanks.

Yes, I found the exact same thing a few years ago. I bought a NOS u-joint off of ebay which fit.
