Won another 5 ton this week. What is on the front seat?

I'm out of control, is there a cure for this madness? Is that some kind of strap wrench on the front seat and what is it worth? I have a feeling it's not going to be there when I retrieve the vehicle. M923's sure are going cheap IMO, guess everyone wants A2's? I got this one for $2150

Don't worry the cure for you will be one of two things. Out of money or a wife out of patience. Either way enjoy until the hammer falls. Now as far as everyone wanting a2,s I don't think that is true at all the reason I bought an A1 is due to the lack of the CTIS and new engine. Not knocking either one but the old saying the more bells and whistles the more that can go wrong. I think the summer vacations may have more to do with it more than anything. I like my truck like I like my liquor straight and simple. If it ain't broke don't try to fix it..... :)

I like the civilian size tires better, myself, they are easier to replace and use for city use. I have a truck like yours, but longer in length, M927. I love it, it feels like a heavy duty commercial truck with a lot of extra features like dual braking system, 6x6 etc. Additionally, smaller tires mean the truck bed sits lower, which is great when you need to transport forklifts and back up into docks.

Ahhhh. Must attach to the camera for bed shots etc Should I try to argue it's included in the sale? Lol I thought it was some kind of strap tightening device.

That is a very clean truck at a great price. I am switching my 923AO over to singles with 395 Michelin XZL's and hope the ride doesn't change too much. I don't care for the bouncy feel of the stock A1, A2 1400's. Since the Michelins are rated to 70 mph I hope they are more stable feeling. I will be driving 90% dirt roads and off interstates as much as possible. Like Scarecrow1 said, I do like simple. Naturally aspirated with a shot of Evan Williams at the end of the day.

Brought her home today. Pretty disappointed, there was NOTHING in the goodie boxes. But this was a radio/gun truck. There is a radio shelf under the rear window and reinforcement bracket under the right fender with the holes and outline of the brackets for the antenna. There was the top half of an Antenna too. I know the odometer and hours are correct at 394 hours and 5405 miles. All the tires including the spare are brand spanking new! Someone either disconnected or broke the parking brake cable, but the switch works for exhausting the air to apply the spring brakes. My first fix is going to be that as the lever can naturally be moved easily.

Here's a shot of her just south of Camp Ripley. We didn't see any Aliens this time around, But we did see about 20 brand new Abrams tanks and scores of Humvees ready to go to the scrappers, A CRIME IMO.

I was just up to Ripley on Monday doing a recovery. I saw this truck sitting on the lot. Wondered why the back was filled with live Unicorns-so whats that all about? My little pony sticker too-
Noticed all the trucks looked good up there. Yours is real nice-price even better. Sorry I missed you.

No kidding....I thought Monday would be too short of notice. Did you see all the hummers, **** shame they are going to the scrapper. Saw a bunch of new Abrams in the other lot. Me and the missus were drilling over everything. What did you get Pete, Don't tell me the same thing with the tarp and bows for $500 more? Did you see that M925A2 that went for $8600!!!!! For a thousand more could a bought the A2 wrecker a couple weeks ago!

I tend to agree. Those big singles sure look nice but they don't wear as well as the smaller tires, take a pretty penny to replace, don't seem to hold up large loads as well, and rob power from a already underpowered truck. For looks I'd vote for the singles every time but for practical civilian use the duals are much better. Now for somebody that just uses their truck as a play toy (as most here do) I could see the singles working fine.

I buy a few trucks and resell to local loggers, farmers, and such and they don't want the big singles for the reasons mentioned above.

I got the wrecker! She wouldnt start on the base. Got it back to my Lindstrom property and got it to run for a short while. Put 5 gallons of fuel in here-cranked her and bleed the filter and she fired right up. Gave it a test run this morning-all the lights and wrecker stuff works. Overall she is in good shape. Needs a grease job. The radiator fan sounds like it may be loose or in need of attention-makes a clanging noise when it engages. Outside of that, I think I got a good truck.
How is your new one?

YOU SOB! I was going to bid on that. Hope to meet you with it! You going to the Red bull Edina parade? Seriously thinking of taking some vets for a ride on that one. Mine's okay, they always look better in the rain don't they? Only bonus I got was a handset I just found and 4 brandnew batteries, Radio shelf and upper half of an antenna. I asked John about that wrecker when it was up, he said the boxes were empty, were they? WTF? They are all empty now. When I bought my deuce I got jack, lug nut wrench, glad hand hose, first aid kit. The last three I got zilch. Glad to hear one of us got it. I couldn't justify bidding on it without seeing at least a video of it running.

Boxes where filled with chains-lots of chains. One had a tool box with acetalene torch stuff. Did find two new glad hand to glad hand hoses though. Good for airing up a dead truck.
Was risky buying one that was not running. I really did need a wrecker for a project I am doing, so took the risk.
Sounds like you got a nice one. New batteries-big bonus.
Didnt know about the Edina deal-will look it up though. I was at the North Branch deal last week. There are a few Duece guys in that area that are not SS guys.

Yeah I felt bad about missing the north branch one. Very close too. When are you going to post some pics of the A2? I feel the need to drool and try to convince my wife how much we really NEED one :) Actually I did bid on yours looking back! Went low ball though, was worried about the not running part.

I will post pictures soon. Went up to the land today and ran. The dead batteries and no start was due to her being out of fuel. Took a look at the batteries- they look recent. This truck starts right quick. Used her to un stuck my tractor today. Pretty neat. Seems everything works. I do think she has a sloppy u joint though. This will be a very handy rig.

I'm green with envy. I went up to 7 on that one. Can't wait to see pics. Congrats Pete, a wrecker is my holy grail of MV's within my price range.
