Hey guys here is the hitch I put on my 925, I had a priece of solid round stock that I machined to the same dimensions as the stock Pintle on the truck then welded the down tube to it with gussett inside, then the reciever on the bottom. In pic 2 that is the 24 volt to 12 volt converter box for the civy lights on my trailer, that is wired directly inot the harness of the truck. If you look under the point where the hitch inserts into the truck you will also see a bolt, its a 1/2 in grade 8 bolt that screws up into the hitch assembly to help control lateral movements of the hitch. When I want to put the original pintle on I unplug this hitch remove the big nut on the back and take this 1/2 inch bolt out, its then ready for the original pintle!

The only issue I see with it is high centering it on something and bending/breaking the trailer hitch off.
I see the same problem! If the main shaft was longer and a longer gusset was attached down to where the receiver is welded would make much stronger hitch. Great idea and looks good don't think it will hold up to a heavy load during a sudden stop!

Thanks for your input guys, as always appreciated! The heaviest item that this hitch will ever haul is my car trailer with my pickup on it, that is a combined total of 11,000 pounds and they will not be any off road activities of any kind with that hooked to the truck. I am pulling my Unimog to a truck show at the end of the week so I will get to see how it works going down the highway, will report any problems at that time. Thanks again for your input as always appreciated!

In the first picture is that an anti-swivel / no turn bolt / plug deal there to keep the whole shootin match from spinning like a clock?

Hey guys I just got back from my first tow in the new hitch. I towed a heavy car trailer with my Unimog on it about 200 miles this weekend, combined towed weight of 10K with the trailer and Mog, I ran my truck about 54 mph the whole way and the new hitch worked perfectly, no sway, cross winds were no issues I think this is going to work pretty darned good. The conditions were gravel roads, highway and a lot of two track trails, NO real off roading of any sort. I am happy with how the hitch performed in every way this weekend! Just wanted to let you know
