I ordered a gear reduction starter and that bracket last attempt to salvage that motor
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
What exactly does that mean? The reduction one should still bolt up? Right? Are you saying that the bolts run on the outside of the housing on the new style ?Not bad. The one in your pics is a gear drive. The thru bolts are on the outside of the gear reduction and the inside of the old school direct drive.
Yeah - not a lot you can do when YOUR mechanic agreed with him about shimming. Your guy probably did not see busted off block corner. Still - someone did the hack patch job and obviously knew about the busted casting. Personally, I think he should help on the starter because it is unlikely he did not know unless he only had the truck a very short time.No it was a little noisey he said it may need to be shimmed I brought a mechanic friend w me two and he agreed , I contacted the seller shortly after all the issues started to develop and be said I had no idea , he's a cop in Gorgia and said he wished there was something he could do cause he can't afford to have a bad reputation being a police officer, I said u can give me some money back he said he couldn't , he posted here several times what a great running truck it is , it does run very well but I've had to pretty much replace or work on every excessary alternators belts pumps etc.
The only response I got back was no knowledge of itYeah - not a lot you can do when YOUR mechanic agreed with him about shimming. Your guy probably did not see busted off block corner. Saying it has to be shimmed indicates he knew.
