M931a2 first use on the highway

Pulled the tractor and pickup to the hay field, 40 miles down the highway averaged 55 mph did fine. Little sluggish off the start but once on the road its good to go.

There is a screw in plug with a hex key spot on the top right of the injector pump. Remove the plug. Inside you will see a screw head with a 9mm set nut. You may have to move the throttle to center it in the hole. Use a ratchet to loosen the set but just a bit but leave the socket on the nut. Take a small flat head screwdriver thru the socket and turn the screw head 4 turns counterclockwise. Retighten set nut and put the plug back in. That will give you a little more oomph without going crazy b

That will give you more fuel. If you want more rpms the 6cta is good for it. The right way to do it is get 3k governor springs. The easy way to do it is remove the governor cover. It is between the fuel solenoid and the shutoff mechanism. There is a wire over it you have to clip away. The cap comes off with a 11/16th socket I believe or something around that size. There are 2 governor springs. Member nevrenufhp has videos of it hes the one who helped me the first time I did it. I have done the fuel and governor on several of these trucks now. Get a ratchet on the alternator so you can turn the engine. Turn until you see the first governor spring. Take a small flathead screwdriver, something with maybe a 1/4 inch tip. You want to turn the spring one notch clockwise it will be 1/4 turn. There are 2 governor springs you have to turn the alternator till the next one comes up and do the same thing. You will rev to around 2400 rpms under load by doing this. I was up on the highway yesterday it was 88 degrees out and I was at 2400 rpms for some time and the temp guage never went past its normal spot. These mods wont make it a rocket but it will definetly be faster off the line and you will feel more power.

Now you just need AC in the cab

Are the trailer brakes air or electric?

If they are electric what controller dud you use?
