Welp, I don't have enough on my plate, so I bought this K-boom. Its small and only rated at 2ton, but its what I was looking for.

Good question. I looked and I'll be darned if I can find it in my barn. :)

Seriously that's all there is to it. When he came up here Monday night he found a worm gear for it at Mendelson's.

Sure would be nice if you found the bearing and mounting so it's swivel would be complete. The Timken bearing race at the bottom is a start (set up like one I have). Is it 24vdc and is there a reservoir?

Looks like a good score!

Are you going to fabricate a frame for the worm drive or did it come inside one?

Do the holes in the bull gear match the boom base?

Yes fabricating a frame for the bottom assembly and yes the bull gear is stock, it bolts to the bottom of the crane arm.

I took the crane apart so it would be easier to work on. Today I took apart the hydraulic cyls so I could see if they were any good. Aside from a set-screw coming loose and hammering the piston cup in one of the cyls, they look like some seals will have them in good working order. Tomorrow I will try to lathe off the mushroomed steel, polish the cyl rods(they have some rust), and maybe bore out the pin holes from 1 3/8 to 1.5 in order to remove some slop.
