Noise from Transmission

Ok guys here's my problem. I getting a weird clicking noise when letting off the throttle in 5th gear. It definitely sounds like its coming from the trans. It does not happen in any other gear and if I push in the clutch the noise goes away. I have checked the jack shaft for being loose and so far have not found anything obviously wrong or loose. Could this possibly be a bad synchronizer? I have not had the top cover off the trans yet to check for wear. I have searched to see if others have had similar problems but haven't come up with anything.

Thanks

Why would it click? I have had a clicking in a manual transmission in a car when I had a cracked transmission case causing some kind of misalignment and gears to touch somewhere inside. I wonder if some pin or spring came loose inside. I would drain fluid and check its condition as well as removing the cover from the top and inspecting.
