Hospital Generator

I have a 10KW generator I picked up from Fort Lewis/McCord . They told me it was for a "MASH" style hospital. The problem is that some pieces where taken off, including one of the injectors. I have not been able to find a replacement. Hopefully someone here can help. The engine is a "Hercules" D2000 4cylinder Diesel unit. It is mounted to a "KATOLIGHT" generator. Here are some pictures. The engine ID is "HT3471811D2000X129 . Thanks for any help.

I can't help on the ID, but would say it is certainly in order to do a compression check while you already have the injector out at least on that one cylinder before investing money into it.

I'm about 95% sure that is a Hercules D-198 like in the MEP-004 15KW units. Injectors are easily found.

As for hospital, possible but throw the dice. Hospitals since Desert Storm have used 100kw generators for the hospital itself.

With that said, there are other generators that supplement power within various parts of the hospital but are fewer in number and not necessarily for medical functions. These smaller generators would be used to power the headquarters, supply areas, commo, maintenance, etc. Just about every size type of generator is authorized to combat support hospitals. MASH hospitals aren't around anymore. The technology has taken over to enable to the Forward Surgical Teams to do about the same thing and the helicopter (and soon the V22) evacs them out to a combat support hospital (CSH--pronounced cash). From there it's out of country. Of course this is all dependent on the size/activity in the battlespace.

So the generator MIGHT have been used at a hospital but I wouldn't bet the farm on hat unless you find bumper numbers saying so.

Katolight was bought out by MTU. You can go to mtu-online.com they have a tech support link. They are good with the 90's stuff im not sure if they would be able to help with that unit though but worth a try.

I just picked up a genset from the FAA with a 6 cylinder (298 cu) D3000. Luckily it came with the tech manual so if you need any info I may be able to help you, a lot of it should be similar.

I was told at GSA that the unit came from a hospital unit, but I don't really give a fig about that. What I need is info about the injectors ! I only mentioned the hospital because I thought someone would know about this unit and be able to help me find an injector ! I want an injector !

It lists the part number for the injectors as 40-3055201. I wouldn't know if they are the same or not as on the 4 cylinder model. Here is some more info:

Since this generator was built in 1973 it would not have seen action in desert storm I'm sure, also it was an Air Force unit. Who knows what those guys used.
