PLEASE Assist with parking brake

I have discovered that the main bolt and nut that holds the parking brake shoes in place has rattled itself right out of my m35a2. Both are missing and I had no choice but to remove both shoes from the drum until I find the missing pieces. I have looked up and down and all over for this bolt and nut and cannot locate one any where! Can someone please help me and point me in the direction or let me know if anyone has one for sale. Never thought trying to locate this bolt and nut would be so aggregating. The bolt that is missing is #8 in the side view of the assembly. The "3-D" pic shows both the bolt and nut.(#16 & #17)

Tried picking up a phone and calling any of the well know vendors/sponsor that advertise on the site?

If you had your state listed in your location(as the rules request), I might be able to help you with a "local" place to buy what you need.

I'm going to guess it's North Carolina as that is the only Hendersonville I know of unless this is some private compound named after the Henderson family somewhere else.. :carnac:

Fixed my location, sorry bout that. Thought I had it in there. I am from Hendersonville, NC but I am currently in Daytona beach, fl right now for school. I tried calling a little while back what I believed was Eric's surplus and no joy with the parts. I was thinking about attending the military flea market gathering in mount Dora, fl coming up here soon to see if someone might have something out there.

It is a fairly common sized Grade-5 hex-head bolt: Ø1"x L=6", 14 TPI. Threaded portion is 2-1/2". You should be able to find it online.
For the nut, it is only "special" because it was turned down to 3/8" in height. It really only serves as a counter-nut.

... Or call the usual parts-guys as suggested.

I know one place where you could find some at least of these bolts & nuts... (I left them there after disassembling several T-Cases): call Derek 423-255-6509.

Thanks for the store and the specs "doghead". That's not to far from where I live. When I make it back home I'll probably take ride to see them if they have the part in stock. I guess I should just continue to try and call a few more stores. That's all I know right now
I'd call Jim Henry before driving out there. I would imagine he'll have the parts needed, but it would suck to drive out there for no reason. If you have no luck with him try calling White Owl, www.whiteowl.com.

Thanks gringeltaube and ATPTac for the advice as well. I'm not sure if I should just try and locate a new bolt and nut or try and find one that was used on the m35a2. I think I'm a little more partially to locating used one so I can keep the truck as close to original as possible. I guess it just really just depends on what how easily I locate one.

I was able to find a suitable nut at Fastenal, though it was special order. Luckily someone had ordered several nuts and never picked them up. Should be able to order a bolt as well to fit. I only lost the nut, not the bolt.

I tried going to fastenal for the bolt and nut. They didnt have it in stock, and the guy never mentioned anything about order it so I gave up on that. Might be worth my wild to try again now that I have the specs. I'm still hoping to find an original before I go that route though. Thanks for the input
