Steering wheel cracking

Does anyone know how to eliminate/reduce the cracking on an A3 steering wheel? I'm adding this to my M109 along with the power steering kit. Thanks in advance.

All you can really do is replace it.

It's not currently cracked. I've seen many photos of them having cracked and was wondering if there is a trick to preventing this.

You can paint it to keep the ultraviolet light from getting at it, that may work.

Wrap it in 550 cord. Basically anything to keep uv light off of it.

anyone have a pic of one wrapped in paracord? I have 383 colored para cord still have like 300' of it need to start wrapping some thing

My buddy was going to do it to his a3 steering wheel to hide the cracking. Hasn't got around to it yet.

If you look at Ak side folder stocks that have been wrapped that will give you a good idea of what it would look like.

I can understand the UV affecting the surface of the wheel but how can the UV cause the whole of the wheel to shrink and crack? Seems like a different problem.
