Need assistance with a m1009. not starting

A friend too a trip overseas. 4 weeks. his 09 have been sitting the last 4 weeks in my yard. i need to get it out of here tonight. the crappy town im in is giving me crap about cut up trucks and parts all over. i was going to drive this back to his place. cranks great. 2 new batteries, relay and glow plugs. rebuilt starter. stock starting system. mine are now push button. been a few since i had to deal with this. gp come on for a few seconds. maybe 3 and go off. before it was parked they were on for 10 12 seconds.. ideas? like to get this gone tonight thanks for the help

has smoke out the tail pipe. so its getting fuel. ill try another gp card if i can find one.. all esle fails i rig up a manual switch thanks

Just to get it going for one trip, you can just use a jumper wire with alligator clips, if you have an assistant. Ground the blue wire on the relay solenoid. No need for a switch. Yes, it's redneck, but in a pinch it will get you going, IF the GP card is really the problem.

Sounds like your GPs are not functioning properly. Some may be bad.

If you have a Soldier B, you can try an old school trick. Have him hold a rag over the tailpipe as you crank. This will hold in a little heat and help the diesel ignite. If no soldeier B is available, a potato wedged in the tailpipe also works. Just make sure the area is clear as the potato may come flying out.

Is that like sending the 'new guy' for a can of squelch for the radio , or the key to the impact area?

With a 1009 would you need a soldier C also? Dual exhaust.Im gonna try the potato thing for sure.

thanks for the help. didnt have time to really work on it. had to clean up load scrap. took the rear drive shaft off and towed it out.. work on it after the towns off my ass again
