Starter worked great when I put it in. Not sure how to describe it. Cranked over great for short time. That was like the power was cutting in and out. While I had the starter out I cleaned up the wires down there. I have about 50% of the wires And grounds cleaned up I still have a way to go. Any ideal my cause this? Thanks guys have a good one

OK sorry for the short reply. I was called away and pushed post reply instead of cancel. Please what was the final issue that resolved the starter malfunction? I personnaly don't like to just cut wires and replace things that have worked for 30 years. Sometimes that just creates other issues and makes the vehicle a hacked up mess. I was guessing it may be a bad solenoid on the starter or the small wire on the starter was not tight or making proper contact. I am just asking what it was out of curiosity? I did a lot of motor pool work on CUCV units and want to keep my mind fresh. What I have left of it.
