Guys the major difference is in the additives, We ran JP 4, JP 5 (special) J P 7 JP 8. Jet A1 , some made from coal and BIO. Specific Gravity is the major concern as well as surfactents and anti microbials The only reason you RED X ed he 781 on the jet was because the "OFF FIELD FUEL may not have been certified 20 year jet engine mech and PROPULSION FLIGHT CHIEF
You might want to clean up the grammar on this one. I have no idea what everything means after "RED X". I can take some guess's but not being a aircraft mechanic that is all they would be is guess's.

Even the tech manuals mention its use they say you get a slightly lower HP rating, somewhere around 25HP if memory serves.

AFTO form 781 is the aircraft inspection and status form.

My 1984 M1028 sat on an Air National Guard base for 25 years and was driven approximately 500 miles per year. When I acquired it in late 2009 it had 12,338 miles. They must have had a lot of JP8.

I run a 50/50 mixture of JP5 and WMO, 5 gal in every tank. It offsets my fuel costs a bit and it is not enough WMO that I have coking issues. The JP juels do not have the lube properties, and the oil will coke if run at a higher ratio, so my mix does well in saveing me money.

Sorry for syntax , computer was no being cooperative , You are right the 781 is the aircraft forms, found either in the front wheel well or the battery box depending on the airframe. What I had tried to say was that when an AF jet loads fuel off station ( meaning not on an AF base) it has to be certified for sufactents , microbes, water ect a "burn" or flash is performed as well . if the storage meets the requirements it can be loaded and no further action is required. I some circumstances you may load fuel from an uncertified location , South America is terrible for poor storage and lots of contaminents. If you do you make an entry in the"A" portion of the forms Under "Note" and explain, if filters need change you also enter it in the "K" of the AFTO 781 forms for filter check , usually on a Diagonal or dash depend on MAJ COM policy or urgency Probably burned multi millions of gallons in 20 years as a jet engine mech and Propulsion flight Chief
