Why 2 pto's on 936s?

Anyone have a solid theory of why they put 2 pto's and pumps on the 936 wreckers? It is not backup for failure because there is only one hydraulic tank. The rear pump would be more than enough to run the front winch. No way they want you running both at the same time, so what gives? Seems to be a waste of money and parts.

Because the engineering was already completed for the front system separately and the engineering timeline to devolp a single stand alone system made it impossible in the first iteration. Once that controls operation was established it was not advisable to have similar trucks with different ops.

Or they were idiots.

Probably one of the two.

The stand alone system would have made sense and would only required a tank like they used on the other trucks. So I guess they just weren't thinking.

The wrecker body is a complete drop on "kit", it comes with EVERYTHING needed to make it function. just like the front winch comes as a complete drop on "kit" , again the install package comes with everything needed to make it function. All the military bodies come as a "kit" with everything needed for the install as one package.

Sorry Ron that's not true here. The front won't work without the bed installed
