Well the engine was cranking while I was trying to bleed the filter (with a non-exitant lift pump) so I'll go out on a limb and say "yes."

Helps if I read the rest of the post about the starter relay. That is what I get for trying to multitask

Maybe now is the time to put in an electric fuel pump????

It's always good to have least electric as possible going on. I'd just replace the mech pump maybe an electric lift pump as back up . But not as the only fuel supply.

OH NO. Don't say that. You will open yourself up to major negative feedback. Electric vs mechanical pump on the CUCV. But I like it. I am with you roveroverme. I have more then 500K of CUCV use and would never change a thing on the design. Thats me and that works for me. Day in day out. Oh no here we go again. But this is America and I am entitled to my opinion.
