Does anyone have or know where to get the generator from a MEP-531A ? I don't want to buy a whole unit as my engine runs great ! If I can't find one I'm thinking of adapting a civilian unit behind the engine. Has anyone done that before ?

Why not fix yours? Unless the stator or field windings are burnt or mechanically damaged. I have the same generator, love it.
