Ah few CUCV inner fender questions..........

I checked the archives and didn't find a direct answer to these so here we go... (#1) can the passenger side inner fender be removed (By it's self),without removing the outer bodywork?...(#2) Are our CUCV inners different then the standard 84 truck ones I'm seeing on LMC & brothers sites?... (#3) Anybody know of a better place to buy them, that will send then UPS vs freight?

Yes you can remove the front inner fender aprons with out taking the outer front fenders off. You just need to tweak them a bit when removing them and installing them. Of course the tire and wheel must be removed to get the inner fender out of the wheel well. And no they are no different then any of the aftermarket aprons made for 81 -91 CK series trucks. And most of them have an indent where the battery trays are to be bolted and make it very easy. Use a unibit to get perfect holes. Also retain the old fenders as templates for a few holes that may be difficult to locate on the new aprons. Good Luck.

#1 Inner will come out without removing fender itself...though you may be asking for trouble if the structure side of fender is rusty.Removing wheel/tire will make this easier.#2 Difference from civy to GI is the re-enforcements for the battery trays, these can be removed and used on a civy unit.#3 Can't help much with this one....maybe ask around with local body shops or junkyards, some do business with aftermarket companies and can sometimes get them cheaper without shipping costs. Hope this is helpful.....HAWK

when I did the inner fender on my other cucv I first thought that way, too and hindsight I am glad I took the fender off, it's not that much more work and lining it all up is not that big of a deal.
A lot easier than snaking all that stuff back in.

So here's ah funny one for yah. I was shopping on "Brothers truck parts" last night for this inner fender. There web site said that it would be approximately $44.00 for the part and $40.00 shipping. Today they emailed me ah quote for $232.51:cookoo:. I quickly called and canceled the order.

Check with Browns of Two Rivers. Their price is $40 for an inner fender. I Dont know if they would ship via ups for the inner fender because of its size but its worth checking. And their price is cheaper than lmc from what I saw

I bought an inner fender from LMC for I thought it was $49.95 and very reasonable shipping.
BUT i had to drill the holes for the battery trays and it didn't have the reinforcements where the batteries are mounted

Yeah I called LMC today and they quoted me $80.70 with ground UPS shipping. I just priced out Browns and they were $82.00 but not sure if that was freight or UPS.

So humor is lost on this site I see:doh:. Rude, nit picky, & abrasive behavior should be the norm? WHY?... NEWS FLASH! We're not that mature! Not only do we play with toy trucks, but we take the time to talk about it on the interweb, oops more humorrofl. Life's short guy's lighten up:nothingfunny:
