What is the value of a HMMWV for sale in Italy?

Hi all,

I have attached some pix of a 1986 HMMWV for sale here in Italy. The sale price is 35k euros (appx 36k US$). It is an American import and is registered here as a street legal vehicle. The price includes a radio, 2 antennas, 2 helmets, 2 jerrycans and an ammo box. I am interested in buying this humvee but have not had a look yet at it - as it is up north. Any comments after seeing the pix?
Is the price too high - even if the condition is very good? Worth taking a look?
Cheers!

Are you just trying to get a fell for how much it should be worth?

Or, are you trying to sell it?

It says he is interested in buying it.

It looks to be fairly clean from the pictures. The price does not sound all that bad as someone spent a fair amount shipping and importing that HMMWV

If it is he spent allot fixing it and bringing it up to standards. I tried trading him for it but he wants cash only.

Hi Carlo, I think it must be the same one as this is also in Torino. Thanks for the additional info, it helps!
Is it legal to drive military vehicles on public roads in Italy without any restrictions? I live in Rome and I don't see any on the roads. You appear to have an impressive collection of MVs!:)

Cheers!

If the hummer is registered "real" as in her correct weight it's above 35qt and we both no on weekends it's classified as a truck and can't be used PLUS it's a autocarro that means no minors under 18 inside. That's why you don't see them much or when you do it's owners that registered them cosi- cosi as they could. When I move trucks and tanks on the weekends I must apply for permission from the state police AND pay them. It's not easy to be a MV owner in Italy. You must really be convinced and have a deep true passion.
I saw this HMMWV for sale on autoscout 24 and contacted him for a trade but he wanted cash only for he's leaving the country. The truck sounds nice and looks good too.

Hi Carlo,

Thanks for the info! I am a non-resident in Italy (and speak very little Italian) and do not know much about the rules that apply to the ownership and usage of military vehicles here. Also I did not know until now, the restrictions applied if you register any vehicle as a truck.

The HMMWV in Torino is registered as 'Autovettura 4 posti'. I believe this allows it to be used like any car without any restrictions that are applied to a vehicle registered as a 'truck'. Please correct me if I am wrong. Have you had a look at this HMMWV?
Cheers!
