Question about installing rear winch on 925

So I've seen a few threads about installing 18k electric winches on the rear of 939s and it got me thinking.

Could you install a 20k hydraulic winch on the rear to match the front winch? To me, it seems like you could tee the lines that feed the front winch and run them to the back. As long as you only run one at a time, it seems like it would work.

Yes? No?

I say YES. The suggestion to look at the wreckers does not help as they are fed from different PTO's/pumps.

When you tee into the front winch lines you will need a selector valve to switch from front to rear. Should be an easy adaption and you could just run a cable control to the cab to operate the selector valve. I have been thinking about doing the same on my M923 but have other items to do first.

Different pumps and PTOs on the wreckers... and there may be a reason they did it that way instead of just running a T on the lines.

Perhaps obtaining some parts off a scrapped wrecker might be an optimal solution instead of reinventing the wheel. An added benefit would be the increased capacity of the rear winch on the wreckers...

Just something to think about if contemplating adding a rear winch.

Although my personal opinion is the warn series 18 would make for a much cheaper and easier install and would be all the winch you'd ever need for self recovery. ....
