I have searched and read the TMs but want to be sure....

The LD and LDT and LDS all have piston squirters. Only the LDS has the channel to cool the top ring. Correct?

I was under the impression that just the LDS motors had the oil squirters in most motors. I have seen the oil squirters in a 1992 (LDT)motor, but that is a newer build. I didn't think the older ones had them.

I know the pistons I have for the LDS-1A have the squirters, but only three rings on the piston, and the oil would be sent to the bottom of those three. HTH.

I have seen pictures in the manual about these squirters, but does anybody have actual pictures of them in an engine? If the LDT does not have them, did they just install plugs in the ports they would have went in?

2 mid-1980's LDTs I've disassembled had them.

The Ld and LDT engines have single squirters and LDS have double squirters... The Lds oil pump also puts out a little more oil volume and pressure than the Ld and LDT engines . JT

I was curious about this myself so I looked up the TMs and found that there actually are at least three different models/version/part numbers for these oil "squirters":

According to TM 9-2815-210-34P of May'74 it is only the Code A engines (LDS 465-2) that take the "double squirters" (#11641754).
All other engine models, codes B;C;D;E & F (all except LDS427) come with the "single squirters" (#10935308 )

Then, in TM 9-2815-204-34P, June '73 (covering the LDS-427-2), in Figure 8, Item 10 it shows the same single-style nozzle but the part number is 10889917. Who knows what ever is different from the -308 nozzles...?

Good Information! I thought all Multifuel oil pumps were the same part number and produced the same volume. I guess I need to look into that. I am putting new pistons and sleeves in my truck and am thinking about all of this stuff now. They are LDS pistons so i want to make sure I have the best of everything in there to it lasts a long, long time and I dont have to worry about rebuilding this again

Location where the oil is squirted? Just a guess.
