Hi all - I'm new here. The auction for our M998 is on the 23rd so we're a few months out from having our truck. Terribly excited.

I'm not affiliated with any shops, or manufaturing companies, but I've noticed there's a lot of guys looking for X-Doors(including myself).

I've been in contact with a few companies about having some made. Before I put a lot of my personal money on the line, I'd like to get a sense of interest from you guys about what you'd like to see.

What material(alum? steel? etc.)(real glass or lexan)?
Hand crank or slotted for window?
Other features?

My goal here is to make a quality door that is readily avaliable, and affordable, for enthusiasts like us. My truck would be 3d scanned so we could get proper fitment. The doors would be laser cut and quality made. What do you guys think?

I have seen complete sets go anywhere from 1k to 2 k over the last 3 months. Price also depends on shipping and that was a big factor. Now if you made half doors like those on sf style hmmwv's for a reasonable price I am sure there would be alot of interest. The rear half doors can be found for under $350 for a pair delivered if you wait for them to pop upon auctions site. But the front half doors never pop up.

I saw some on evilbay for 400 ish in rough stripped condition. At that price I mind as well pull out a sheet of ar500 and actually make something that will actually stop something.

I would be interested I think the lighter material would obviously cut back on extra weight. I think slotted windows that are easily accessible and maintained would be the best. don't make them without the "X" they don't look right. I've looked into calgoldproducts but they seem to have a poor reputation and I have actually reached out to them more than once to ask questions with no response. I will be honest though and say if I could find a decent pair of surplus doors I'd get those over any remake just for purist purposes. I am having a very hard time finding 2 hard "X" doors let alone all 4. I prefer the pickup set up though.
