I seen the story on papa bear truck. I can't find anything on the long wheelbase truck. This looks like mobile repair truck not a radio truck but has the hitch and plug in for k19 trailer

I know the military never ran them with the GMC badge on the nose. They removed them before service.

What does any of your paperwork or data plates indicate what it is. After seeing the pictures before its not a k18. It might be a k........but wondering what you have saying what it is.....and i have looked at a lot of pictures and read thousands of pages.

If you saw larry's thread you know that is a workable project depending on your budget and what your looking for at the end of that tunnel.

I remember seeing some "bookmobile" and "recruiting" type trucks in my research that sorta, kinda resembled the K18-C but were longer.

Looks like we may have another rare find here folks!!

I wish that rascal was closer. I would LOVE to see it in person!

Papa bear where was the data plate located on your truck? I'm not finding 1 on this truck.
Do u have links to any information that you found when researching yours?

I would start by inspecting the FRAME for serial numbers. Pass side outside frame or on top...then just jeep looking for identifying info---you need a stsrting point otherwise you have no idea what to spend your time looking for.

Open the hood.....on the firewall top left and right look for dmall 2inch x 1/2 inch metal riveted on tags.

Report back.

I'm not sure where they were covan3. The feller I got the truck from had removed the 3 data plates and he lost one of them (the one with the shift pattern)aua

I haven't looked around the cab to see if any small screw type holes match up to the plates but I will soon.

I'll try to post a pic of my data plates tomorrow. I think they are on my puter at work as I can't find them on this one.

What a sweet find!
I thought our K-18's were rare, this might have us beat.

Does the body look factory? My first thought is somebody sliced a K-18 in half and added the mid section to fit there needs.
I think a careful inspection would reveal a lot.

You truck really is quite cool, probably the one thing I wish I could change on my K-18 would be for a little more length (they are short!!)
