Did Any One Ever Hear Of A XM531 ?

I did not know what forum to put this under , it looks like an early Gamma Goat. I acquired this manual a few months back but really did not look over it till recently. It was amphibious and was powered by a six cylinder gas engine. Did any one ever hear of this animal AMC was developing ?

Now I have to scan the manual into a PDF. It seems simple enough some one could build one from scratch.

It had some unique features . I even found inside the manual a letter from AMC dated 1961.

Wasn't that an early version of what became the GOER vehicle?

Just looked at a GOER, but it's not articulated like the GOER . Also the goer was made by CAT. I just also found out this was related to the Mighty Mite .

I found one more picture on the web. And an article from 1967 about testing in Florida. But then it appears to have vanished.

Somewhat reminiscent of the Haflinger, although i must admit my first thought was Mini Moke.
