Big Dog M923A1 gets new paint

The weather and my schedule finally allowed be to start my painting project on my M923A1. I took Friday off as a vacation day and started all of the prep work. Complete power wash from the top down, followed by a complete power wash with Purple Power to degrease everything. 4 cans of Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer to hit the rusty spots and then a lot of masking tape. Let it all dry overnight.

After the dew burned off and the wind picked up I got after it on Saturday. I used the paint advice in the paint forum and used the Behr house paint and it worked like a charm. Cheap China Freight Tools sprayer and 5 hours of painting later...

I think I'm leaning towards leaving it solid green. I really like the way it looks.

The house paint is fitting

This is a truck I had sandblasted down to bare steel and shot with milspec carc by H&H exotic coatings in Tulsa.

Bigdog looks just as good at a fraction of the cost, and the behr housepaint is probably more durable and less prone to flake than carc.

Oh,and I like the solid green look

I got home this afternoon. The 4-5" of rain over the past 3 days have not hurt the paint. Still looks great.

Debating on on putting Line-X in the bed, or the stuff you buy at Home Depot.

The paint turned out nice. I'm planning on re-painting my truck this summer, and I think I'll give the Behr house paint a try.
