where were you able to purchase the acid to remove the rust was it specific mix or commercially available like Lowes/HD ?

Thanks
I got mine from Home Depot and diluted with tap water.

Klean-Strip Phosphoric Prep and Etch.

It is listed at 35-45% phosphoric acid, so I used a one to one dilution. In the future, I will probably use it straight.

well ... , seeing the conditions under which they were stored and the results of that , I would reccomend replacing the Orings. I'm pretty sure they're a bit 'brittle' and they'll leak air 24/7

I took apart four of them to install new outer rims, bolts, nuts, etc. and the o-rings were all pristine. As in, they look like they had just been installed yesterday. No water had permeated into the tire at all.

They all hold air just fine. The ones I installed on the truck haven't lost any pressure. From what I can tell these tires were installed on the rims in 2012.

I was very happy that the rust turned out to be a cosmetic issue only.
