Try not to take it personally my friend. This site is pretty close knit unit, with its share of god ol' boys. Many different personalities and a wealth of experience.

They just want to ensure your truck is safe not just for you and other people on the road but for the MV collectors in general. The average public zombie does not understand why we collect and drive these often antiquated vehicles.
It seems whenever there is an incident concerning one of these vehicles it gets plastered all over the local media.

Sheds a damaging light onto the hobby, and we all know the Government doesn't need much of an excuse to harass or stop the sale to the public all together.

So to put it in short, They are protecting you and the rest of us by trying to give you sound advice. Sometimes it can get a bit aggressive.

Think of them as drill Sergeants, its for your own good. Don't take it personally.

It could be worse lol you could have these 2 guys standing over you while you change the tire haha

thank you sir. im no idiot and never claimed to be an expert in anything. just shareing things i can do and a little bit about me ect. im not new to working on things i do it everyday. i joined this forum with great hopes it would be a close helping commuinty that can give advice with out calling someone a moron basically with out even knowing them. (even though i took the advice and ordered new tires i still got sh$t) im learning everyday and unless someone can prove they have restored a duece from the ground up starting with the first bolt and doing 100% of the work multiple times and have a full shop stocked with every nut bolt and part and the factory blueprints i see them as no expert!

im over this no worries i hope i can meet some fellow enthusist that share in my hobbies and share some knowledge without bias

ok btw i removed 3 foam filled tires yesterday. guess what i had the proper tools did it myself by hand. (to the fellow who said i shouldnt have bought such a large truck!!) man those tires had to be over 200lbs but i got them good thing i lift 6 days a week and am 265lbs of muscle if any off you was wondering haha i know alwalys someone stronger then me around every corner . but im a strong able man capable of working on this duece without much help. heck i changed the oil and filters without any instructions ! lol

cheers everyone:):naner:

It's all good, I'm glad you have your tires on the way and you can get rolling with confidence. Check the brakes while you have the tires off if you haven't already. The brake system on these trucks is unforgiving.

"doing it twice to make it nice" is not the normal work ethic around here.

This part of your post will work them up. The reason is, many people on here are those kinds of experts, that's the reason why they are so passionate. This website is literally the holly grail of information and parts.

Get in the good books and you will have no shortage help in the future. Some of these guys with drive across a State to help out one another.

if it works them up then let it. if they were experts it wouldnt bother them as they would be secure in their skills as duece builders. maybe some day they will need help on building a custom 50k$ staircase and i will be here to help
as far as brakes i replaced 2 leaking wheel cylinders yesterday. not a bad job
thanks

Not to try and make matters worse, but just take this as some constructive criticism. Trying a little harder for good punction always goes a long way. You know, commas, capitalization, periods, etc.
It's way easier to read a post when there's good punctuation. We know nobody's perfect, but people will/do form opinions about you based on things, like just how you write/type. Yes it takes longer, but at least try.
Good luck with tires, and keep us posted.

Are you lifting the lock lever when you operate the light switch?

You must hold the lock lever then turn either top lever to use the switch, this and much more can be found in the basic operators manual(aka -10tm)

i see zero duece's running around my area. i called some shops just for a safety inspection and they all thought i didnt have a head lol
There are a lot of 70's Fords out there that have the same rim. When 105 trailers were abundant, I outfitted my F600 with 6 that had nubs. Sold the trailers with some nice 10.00's from a Ford. Can't do that any more though.

Good luck. If that's C & C in Indiana...good people.
