Governor linkage Bottom Ball joint removal

I just went to start my mep-003a and found that the lower ball joint on the governor linkage is cracked down the whole length of the threads, thus will not thread back on to the linkage.Heres where I need help , I can't get it off because it hits the side of the IP when I try to slide it out .
Any help would be greatly appreciated . I think the part # is onan 150-0939 Thanks

I get them off by putting a large screw driver between the IP and the ball joint and do a little prying. It will pop right off.

One end of my governor linkage on my 016B was broken. I order some replacements from McMaster Carr, I believe is the name of the company. They aren't very expensive and they have most all sizes and thread types in stock.

We had a member here that was selling 3D printed replacements of the plastic governor linkage ends a while back.

So when I get a new ball socket I should only use the new socket with the female threads and leave the original ball on
the bracket? If I get a metal ball/socket will I be able to pop it back on? Thanks

well.... after doing a lot of searching online I found a thread on smokestak and found Part # E-Z-GO 24465-G1 It looks like the same socket and even has a T stamped on it
so I will go ahead and order it and see if it works,sigh...

Yes, I know what you mean. I had to measure the threads and size. I think what I needed for the 3k unit was 10-32 but I wasn't sure if I needed left hand threads or not. they were pretty cheap and I ordered both. I thought about seeing what is on my 002A unit. I would guess they are the same as the 003a's but I wasn't sure.

Well I finally got the parts Through AMAZON (ordered a 10 pack for $30 ) and they work just great >
