TheeDIZ has that artwork going on his rig, too, I think. Is that a club you all belong to or something?!

And thanks for all the pics. That looked like a fine event!

Is that a lake in the background?

I was referring to the scrape, the decal my sister made me just before I left as a b-day present.

The silver in the pic is a silver tin roof on a building across the road.

Well I just got back in the house. That was a long ride but totally worth it and will plan on next year. Thank you to everyone who made this event happen!

I made a detour on the way home...

Thanks Cabell for an awesome time as per usual!
Two amazing products from the 1950's...and Adam gets to play with both... :)
Glad that you had a good time and I really appreciate your picking up the shirts for us on your way to the rally. I know that you had one busy weekend... ;)

I would like to thank everyone that came to the event.
It was our biggest one yet!
A big thanks go out to Adam (Ferro) for picking up the shirts, Mike (SCSG-G4) for running the firing range, Chuck (BMan) for minding the HQ Tent, Sonny for trail clearing and for KP duty on Saturday. Rad for cooking assistance on Saturday and for ensuring that I was well caffeinated every morning... Blake for leading rides.
HUGE thanks to Steve, Laura, Gary, and Irvin (and the rest of the Rock Ridge Offroad crew) for getting the site and trails ready for the event and for guiding folks on the trails.

I had a great time and will be posting my photos in a day or so once I recover from the mound of paperwork that was waiting for me when I got to the office this morning...

Next year's event will be held on August 31- September 4, 2017.

Pictures from Graves Mountain

Sorry for the blurry pictures, it was getting dark and camera was focusing on the door frame of jeep as I drove around. Did not realize it til now. I left them in just to show who was there at the time I took the pics. This was Thursday evening so in no way did I get everyone's attendance.

Those pics are all great. Thanks for the shots!

What is this rig right here; looks nice. I'm not recognizing the box on the bed; is that an LMTV?

rickf, that is sad news. I am so sorry.

My condolences to you, and to all of your family. Requiescat in pace.

God bless you all.

That is a bobbed five ton with a modified to fit 105 trailer for a rear body. I have the guys info that owns it and builds them. It was a really nice rig and I say that as a guy who is not really into bobbers.

I'm with you, the bobbers don't do it much for me either, but:

- That's crazy!

Do you know if he has a thread on here about those things?

It was a blast. My son and I enjoyed it immensely. Had fun meeting all the SS'ers and their vehicles. Took rides and made drives in some of those trucks. The half-track was a highlight, but I enjoyed them all. My HMMWV had no breakdowns and ate up the trails like candy.
Don't have many pics, due to the challenge of driving and photographing. Wasn't gonna let a 7yo hold a phone next to an open window on a bumpy ride!

Aside from some folks who insisted on running their generators in the middle of the campground 24/7, it was wonderful.

We plan to come back.

Ah yes, the generators........................................... Even in my isolated spot way down in the south 2 1/2 I heard them. The one closest to me was shut down at around midnight. There was a case one time, I will not mention where or when other than it was not a SS members genny, where a generator that was running all night ran out of gas in middle of the night so one of the members was nice enough to add some fuel to it for them. Diesel fuel! Needless to say when they gassed it up and fired it up it did not run long and the rest of the night was quiet.

All that said, one of the members had a Honda 3000 going and I was standing between it and a big fan and the fan was louder then the generator. You could not hear the generator from 30 feet away. There are some that you can run at night and others, like the cheapo HF ones, that you cannot. They can even be irritating during the day!
