Two Problems: Power braking And Rear left tire vibration

First Problem: When I brake, I can hear a whining sound and with hard braking the pedal starts vibrating a decent amount.

Second Problem: Recently I took off old goodyear tires and replaced them with BF Goodrich tires (same size, load range) to match my two front tires. I did keep the old 12 bolt rims on the new tires though (front two tires have the million bolt rims).

So I went on a small road trip, 60 miles round trip, no problems heading up, and none heading down. The vehicle did sit for two days in the weather half way into the trip. At the last half mile back to my house the back tires (I suspect the left) started vibrating a decent amount. I then started to investigate and got a chase car to see what was wrong, nothing looked off. Vibrating starts around 25 peaks at 35 and is almost gone at 45, any higher than that and its smooth as butter.

The second time I went out to investigate the problem I was heading down my driveway when the vibration was very violent and intermittent. Every couple revolutions of the tire there would be 1 or two violent gitters (only when under acceleration). When backing up at a decent speed and I let the vehicle return the idle I can hear a clicking sound coming from the tire (sounds like the wheel of fortune).

I am forced to resort to you guys now for help here, all my local shops have refused to work or even troubleshoot the vehicle and its various problems as they are "unequipped".

Jack it up and check suspension for loose parts. Maybe a wheel bearing or half-shaft bolts. Make sure tire is not separating-- I would say not as problem comes and goes.??? Let us know and happy hunting!

I read the post again-- check your caliper, caliper slide pins, mounting bolts, and pads.

And, if you did, the weights may have fell off.
I just looked at my pictures from before and after the tire change and Les Schwab seems to have removed ring like weights around the rim. Before there were two weights on the left rear tire on one side of the rim. Afterwards they are not there.

that is called balancing, but they likely would have put some on in another spot. These usuallt take a lot of weights.

The weights were taken off the outside of the rim and I don't see them on the inside. Les Schwab barely knew how to take the rims off. Where else would they put the weights?

just find a shop that has the HUNTER ROAD FORCE TOUCH balancing machine. have it checked again. I had mine done for $7 each. Did you have the shop taking the rims apart for you? Most places wont mess with runflats.

Les Schwab was able to deal with the run flats. They took the rim off, took the tire off, transfered the runflats to the new tires and done.

Im in Seattle, are there any places you can think of that have that machine.
