Hi guys, I'm a new member here but i have been picking up a lot of useful information here for a long time. I own my m1010 for 8 years now and I've inherited it from Kazakhstani gov that was donated a stock of 100 cucvs by us gov about 20 years ago. Mine was in very good technical condition, the works I've done was complete repaint and releathered the dashboard panel that was cracked by sun. Technically everything was working and the rig had everything in stock including 1986 medical kit. I drive it seldom but enjoy it more than driving my Escalade))). I shall be trying to keep it in original condition but it looks like I will have to start some mods like glow plug relay bypass and further Duvac work out since one battery is charged at 15 v and the other at 12,5 v. However I did not have any dead batteries problems so far having driven 2,000 miles over past 4 years. We'll see, right now awaiting set of new glow plugs , the old ones were burnt by glued relay contacts.

Thank you guys, and thank you all for all good information, advice and posts that you have here. As I said over the years I have been trying to keep its original condition but given the fact that I want to use it more often I will have to do some mods that will help me easy every day start and use. I'm going to put automatic diesel fired remote control heater both for engine and cabin, install back up camera, new set of tires and rims (studded ones for the winter) , put new high performance shocks, and possibly 2-4 inch lift. I'm not going to do any mods to cabin or booth or any othe part regarding interior. I like it more with original military design feeling when I get inside and drive. I shall add some interior pics later.
