Of course. R & S Diesel in Albany, GA off of Roosevelt Avenue. I have no affiliation with them but certainly appreciate a good job at a fair price. There's quite a few shops that won't touch these anymore.

5 Ton is back together and ready to roll to the Ga Rally. I had a how dumb am I moment this evening when I couldn't get it to go in gear. The transfer case was still in neutral from the tow preparations. Anyhow, it is running awesome and somewhat stronger than before. I got to drive it around the block and even though the timeline is compressed somewhat, it is ready to go to Durhamtown.

Good to hear. Would recommend installing an EGT gauge now that your fuel is turned up. the NHC250 in my wrecker can hit 1400 F (too hot) with only the fuel pump turned up.

I think you are not metered right then. I am 20% up on my pump. No need to use more than 80 percent throttle and I cant even hit 1000 degrees grossing 72k

I was thinking that initially as well but testing says it's correct. At idle my gauge reads an average of 230, taking a laser thermometer reads similar at the collector of the manifold. Same thing when I crank it up to 2100rpm, the gauge is giving me a similar reading as the laser thermometer (given about 30-60 seconds for the manifold to heat soak). I know laser thermometers are not the most accurate in the world but that's 2 sensors reading similar temps in the same location.

Keep in mind I'm at roughly 4500-5000ft elevation in the mountains with a nearly 40k pound wrecker.

I blew quite a bit of black smoke at higher speeds on the way home when floored for a short distance. I finished the air canister mod this evening so I am using almost all of the air filter media now and I washed it out 2 nights ago. My observations. It shifts around 2,000 rpm now whereas before, around 1,700 to 1,800. The engine seems much happier and pulls quite a bit stronger. I need to adjust my throttle pedal as I know I'm no longer hitting wide open throttle on the pump after the rebuild of it. I need to drill a new hole in the throttle lever about an inch below the current hole but leave room to stifle interference with the transmission kickdown cable.
