Here is an enlargeable photo of the original. The truck was in line at #2 out of over 100 entries in the Barnesville, OH Pumpkin Festival, only behind the color guard and the police escort. The crowd loved the truck. My mom rode shotgun all dressed up Texas style in a teal cowgirl outfit.

I quit voting in these a while back because I dislike having to choose between so many outstanding vehicles, and because I didn't like the way some people played. But I have to get in this one, out of loyalty to a buddy, and also the sympathy thing on the boogered foot!

Cheers

Few pics that TWM did not have. Almost all the components for the Ambulance were MIA - these all had to be hand fabricated. These pieces are unobtanium - meaning their just not purchased and put them in the M170 to make the ambulance - you have to either have a shop make these for you or do it yourself.20161016_103116_001.jpg20161016_103148_001.jpg20161016_103209_001.jpg20161016_103216_001.jpg20161016_103243_001.jpg20161017_171411_001.jpg

Since some folks don't want to wade through 81 pages of work thread I'll post some of the more important milestone pics from it.

A couple more.

Mrs MKCoen.jpgNew Cover.jpgMore Tires.jpgPicking up M1082.jpgNew Tailgate.jpgSecond Breakdown.jpgThird Breakdown.jpg

1) Mrs mkcoen enjoying an afternoon drive
2) New cargo cover
3) New tires
4) Recovering the M1082 from Ft Hood with M813rc
5) New tailgate (I know it's tough finding parts for older vehicles but so is finding ones for newly released vehicles)
6) Breakdown number 2 (fan hub sheared sending the fan through the radiator)
7) Breakdown number 3 (unknown cause of engine overheating - no relation to breakdown #2)

As you may be able to tell from the 3 roadside situations, I drive this truck quite often to events hundreds of miles away. I love looking at vehicles that have been meticulously restored but I want to enjoy my truck to the full extent I am able to while I am still able to do so. I had planned on taking the truck on a 400 mile (each way) trip to Big Bend National Park next week then had the mechanical breakdown (well mechanical "tear") with my ankle that'll prevent me from taking it. I will still be doing 2 Veteran's Day Parades as long as I have the boot off my foot by Nov 5.

EDIT: For some reason only 2 of the 16 photos are expandable. The full pics are available in the thread - http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?152882-Working-on-the-M1078-LMTV

I'd have to say Mark, I would have voted for your truck but Medicup is a CAMO member and you have to agree his M170 is nice.

Of course...I pulled my exquisite M151A2 out of the running so you both would have a chance.....:naner::papabear:
