I wrote a nice long post and it got kicked back because it was too large. So now I'm going to just write that some parts fell off while driving, the door swung open and came out of alignment while driving, I verified it's a 6.5l, I changed the oil to T6 Rotella - anyone have any experience with this? I have no experience with diesel engines and pretty much just hoping that the HMMWV will like it. I also changed the oil filter to a mobil 1 m1-302.

Part that fell off: What is it?

i beleive those were mounted on your transmission crossmember, they held your armor on underneath.

any idea how many there should have been? If I should be looking for more than two that fell off? I don't need them but I'd hate to just lose them.

I've also been looking more into the 5w-40 full synthetic on other Diesel sites. It appears that this is a full synthetic weight and no problems should arise... just more expensive. I'll let everyone know if the Humvee 'splodes.

Any quick checks I should be doing maintenance wise would be very helpful. Thanks. :)

Hi everyone. I found out where the mounting brackets fell off of and I'm happy they didn't grab the rear tires. If you buy a demil humvee, they're most likely mounted on the passenger foot rests towards the front on both sides. I found holes and huge a huge 'washer' type bracket hanging loosely on the other side.

Today I just did some cleaning and more poking around to see what to do next.

I'm going to hopefully replace the coolant and differential fluids soon.

Cleaning takes some time for me. This thing is something of a bear to clean due to the very gritty surface.

The oil is leaking out of the drain plug and I see some from the filter but it's not enough to drop. It won't drop. It's moist but not dropping. I'm going to try and look for a crush washer to replace the plastic one on the oil bolt. I'll post it if I find a suitable one. I also will post the size of the sheet metal screws that I'll be replacing the ones currently in the unit with. They're rusting.

Those brackets are likely from the armor as RetiredWarHorse stated. When I first took my truck off the trailer, I went over every square inch and picked off every nut, bolt, and washer I could find. Two of those brackets were hanging on a crossmember near the middle of the vehicle, I pulled them off and don't recall which crossmember but the transmission crossmember FEELS right.

As for the doors, are you sure you are using the proper striker? Do they use the soft top striker (which looks like a bent up heavy duty coat hanger) or a hard door striker (which is a heftier cylinder like on traditional car doors)?

Ok. Will pressure wash.

I will take a picture of the striker as I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. I think Midwest may have put the doors on and they're complete garbage with garbage hinges and garbage fit. The roof is nice but it's definitely not sealed from the weather. Has anyone with a HMMWV truck found a way to weather seal the cab from the truck bed? Are there any common fixes for that?

I have a two man unit. The rear panel where the A/C mounts to rests on the 'channels' on the bed. I was wondering how to seal this. Is this kit meant also for that?

Ah, sorry. Not 100% sure about the 2 man. I know there's a 2 man divider and floor bracket setup for that. If you had some pics of the area, that 2 man floor bracket might be what you need since it conforms to the floor ribs, but otherwise I'll have to defer to someone more knowledgeable.

I heard some of the m1123's have China blocks? Not American made parts? Apparently there are stamps I need to verify? Does anyone know where they are and what I need to look for?
