I just finished installing the Spin-on Kit from Scar59 and I highly recommend that others do this. It was easy and makes future oil changes a lot cleaner. Thanks Scar59
RNeely,
Glad it came together for you. Makes future filter changes real easy. Find a old baking pan, makes a great drip pan for under the filter, rests on the frame rail.

There is another benefit to changing over to the spin on filter you don't need as much oil to refill the truck the new spin on does not need a gallon of oil like the oil cartridge unit.

That depends on the type of filter you use. The napa 1970 is almost 4 inches shorter than the luberfinder I use from time to time. The Baldwin is 2 inches longer. I have seen a Endurance filter made by Donaldson that is 17 inches long compared to the napa is 9.8 inches. I was told the endurance was good for around 15,000miles but I am not testing that.
