Does anyone have a source for the Thermostatic Switch on the 802a or 803a. It's the switch that senses when the coolant is to hot and shuts the unit down. Part number in the manual is 88-22203 and NSN 5930-01-0378-6882. I can't find any cross references to that particular part.

Correct NSN is: 5930-01-378-6882.

Manufacture:

INDEX SENSORS AND CONTROLS INC7112 265TH ST NWSTANWOODWA98292

Phone and Fax: 360-629-5200 360-629-0838

There is no military NSN or part number substitute. I can't seem to find squat on this thing, other than whats listed above. Will try and do a bit more research.

I found a NOS one on ebay a few months ago. I still have the old one that worked fine as it turns out if you are unable to source one elsewhere.

EDIT...

Looks like the seller has more. It was NOS unopened.

If someone can verify the thread on the switch and the temperature rating we should be able to cross it to a current part.

That is the actual sending unit for the gauge. I need the one that is located directly below with 2 wire hookup. I'm having a unit that is shutting down, with a fault indicator of high temperature. Just starting the unit from cold, shuts it down but I can unhook one of the wires off the thermostatic switch and the unit will run.

Okay guys, thanks to Guyfang's information, Index sensors and control Inc. still makes the switch. Phone number is 1-800-726-1737, part number is 8037122. Cost is $53.30 plus shipping. Thank you again Guyfang!
I searched a lot last night and several places quoted $396 for it. Green Mountain had them at one time for $96.00 but they are currently out of stock.
