I seem to have fried my blue fusible link (that goes into the block that feeds the GP controller) and I can't find a replacement specific to the M1008, or any Chevy for that matter. So, the question is, are all blue fusible links the same 12ga wire?

You can go to an Auto parts store and buy fusible link in bulk by the roll or just get the Help card with a short piece. In a bind you can put an in-line maxi fuse if you like. It does about the same thing. But DO NOT hard wire a piece of wire in there. You need something to break the current should the need arise. I hope that helps answer your question real quick without to much research. Have a great day.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the responses.

I did use the Fusible Links 101 thread to ID the correct wire gauge but when I searched online I found several different 12ga links, but they were branded by auto manufacturer. The parts store guy hadn't even heard of such a thing, the Chevy dealership said they're not listed as a part you can order, and I called a supposed auto wire company and they couldn't even tell me if all blue links are created equal. I also spoke with a gearhead friend and he said that indeed, they are. I've never fried on before, so I had no idea (I also had no idea how exciting such a thing can be : )
