Just saw you were down, then back up again. I was only an hour north of you. Glad you got it going again, and maybe you will miss the rain. The front is now along the I=65 road between Mobile and Montgomery, AL

Final update of the trip, she made it! 840+miles and she's home; thank you to all the people whom followed this thread contributing encouragement, advise and knowledge along the way. The truck ran flawlessly throughout the trip, with only one mechanical failure of the compressor unloader becoming stuck, and about 60 miles from home the air brakes began to bleed down into the stack while held. I believe it to be the valve in front of the engine but will diagnose after a good nights sleep and day of work

Congratulations on the acquisition and the successful recovery. That is a GOOD LOOKING truck. But then, I say that to all the trucks.

Q2 runs secondary air pressure. If you are dumping primary air upon applying brakes then a diaphragm is usually the culprit. Same thing on if secondary air is dumping. You have 10 service and 4 spring diaphragms. Get your spraybottle with soap and water out
Charge the truck with shop air and have someone apply brakes and search.

Sounds good Simp, I've got a Q2 coming in hot at the local O'Reilly just in case, and I when I get home after work I'll do some leak testing; I do commercial refrigeration and we've got some awesome leak detector mix

Download the p2p program so you have an air diagram. 95 percent of the time its a diaphragm. Especially if you dont know the last time they were changed. Buy good caging bolts and do all 14 diaphragms one weekend. Takes about 2hrs and 30$

Easiest way to diagnose the Q2 being bad is to take vent line off the connection block on the frame rail just behind the air filter. 4 lines into it. 2 from the rear. One going up to the intake tube and 1 coming from the front. 15/16 wrench to take it off. If you have a stupid amount of air coming out of the front line then its bad. Otherwise it should be a a slight hiss In general.
