4l80 shift points

My shift computer allows modifying shift points related to rpm. It needs tweaking, (not twerking, thank you spell check). What is a good rpm point for normal shifting for everyday and during towing?
Im looking for a good, universal shift point for my trans that has constant full line pressure.
I'd also like a good rpm for the converter to lock up at.
The shift points are still also related to throttle position, so I need a safe norm.
It also allows for four other shift profiles, but I've no idea what to do with those.

All I can say is "WOW" you don't know the sh!tt storm you can get into playing with shift points. There are so many variables ! That is why Allison has a "adaptive" shift program on all their electronic controlled transmissions. It checks and stores all the throttle positions and engine RPMs and road speeds continuously and then makes changes to the shift points based on this data. If your controller has four positions then just start at number one and work your way through them. After you go through all four pick the best one for you.
When I was an apprentice at "Detroit Allison" one of my jobs was setting shift points on the rebuilt transmissions. We had a valve body dyno that cost thousands even back then and was able to simulate all road, engine and load conditions. There was "factory" standard shift points that we usually used, (based on engine, and transmission model and differential and load capacity of vehicle) but when customers wanted a "specialized" setting we had to go and "play" on the dyno until we came up with an acceptable shift pattern. Just changing the specs on one shift valve would change all the values on every single valve ! It could get quite frustrating at times ! You never, ever had a perfect shift pattern. So you did the best you could to try and accommodate the customers wishes. Now with the computer controlled valve bodies you can come pretty close to perfection with the "stock" settings, but anything else and your out there in guessing land again, unless you have a program like "Allisons" adaptive shift.

I normally don't disagree with people who know better than I do about most things.
How ever, the whole purpose of the quick shift four is to allow just that. One primary, and 3 optional shift patterns.
It's a good thing to, as the programs they supply, even those called diesel, have shifts points near 7000 rpm.
Right now I've got mine all in the power band, and below 3k.
Only issue I have is a little hunting back and forth between 3rd and 4th. I also think I feel the converter locking and unlocking, but I don't understand about that.

Isn't that what I said ? Just use the one of the four shift patterns supplied and call it good. No need to go and design your own. Isn't that what we are talking about ? Or did I miss something ?

Ahhh, I didn't say, but they have no good diesel tunes. Their diesel one had shift points up around 7k. Obviously a mistake, or misplaced file. They sent me some in my email, but my Android phone is useless for that. I'm stuck doing my own.

Ayup, I just realized the unlabeled numbers going up the left side of the scale are mph, not rpm. That makes their program look better. Mine were shifting awful low...
No lack of power even so. Went right up our steep hills in 4th.
