Custom keyed power switch

An idea popped into my head last night and I thought I'd run some of it by people here.

I know there are keyed power switched out there, but I want to go a step further and customize it a bit more. Is the power switch as simple as completing a circuit?

What I'm thinking of doing is using a skeleton key lock, isolating some of the workings so it doesn't short out or shock the user and running the wiring so the circuit is completed when the key is turned. Without taking apart the power switch I thought maybe someone could tell me if this idea would work.

Actually it has four terminals, for two independent circuits, if you wanted. (A-B and C-D)

Here is a diagram which shows what is what, inside that switch. Also, how it was wired to work in combination with a simple keyed switch and also control a second, auxiliary 12V-circuit.
