HMMWV 1986 T case leak

Could it be the vampire?
not leaking much, just moist a bit, a bit dirty around certain areas, which is expected.

any other hints or tips?
any shops in the texas area people know of?

Do you have fluid on everything behind it? Older cases had a plug on top that could come out. Air blowing over the hole would suck fluid out.
Check the fluid level.

so this could be mentioned as "normal ops" ?
Well, normal MAINTENANCE.

If you can't find a source for the "seep" (is it a class III drip or just wet along seams?), wash the truck, hose off the TC w/ some degreaser, brake cleaner, let dry and take it for a ride (DO check for the rubber plug - part #65 -in hole first), then get under there with a flashlight and look for ATF.
